Hounds for Heroes
Hounds for Heroes was founded by Jake and Shelby Skillett in 2025. Jake was already working with Mission K9 Warrior and saw that there was still a huge need to help veterans. Being a previous first responder himself, he saw that there was a large portion of our national heroes that were being neglected.

Hounds for Heroes is dedicated to improving the lives of first responders and military veterans by connecting them with highly trained service dogs at no cost. These incredible companions offer support, companionship, and assistance in daily life. Our goal is to enhance the well-being of those who have served and protect communities. Together, we can make a meaningful impact!

Mission K9 Warrior
Mission K9 Warrior was founded by Dave Huges after he personally saw the effect that veteran suicide had long term on family and friends.
​
Veteran suicide is at an all time high. A mission to stop this epidemic is why “Mission K9 Warrior” was born. We are determined to raise the funds necessary to provide a qualified veteran with a highly trained service K9, that can improve the quality of the veteran’s life who risked it all for our freedom.

Mission K9 Warrior has placed service dogs with over 40 veterans and look forward to continuing to change lives.
